Professional Year-Engineering Program

The Professional Year in Engineering (PYP) is a structured professional development program specially designed for international engineering graduates who have completed their degree in Australia. It aims to bridge the gap between academic study and professional employment in the Australian engineering workforce. It is recognized by the Australian Government and Department of Home Affairs as preparation for professional practice

Total Duration: 12 months (44–52 weeks)
Training Component:

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for the Engineering Professional Year:

🧾 1. Educational Requirements

You must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (e.g., civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical, environmental, etc.).
Degree must be completed within the last 4 years.
Must meet Australian academic standards/recognition (often CRICOS-registered courses).

Visa Requirements

You must hold or have applied for one of the following:
- Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485)
- Skilled Recognised Graduate Visa (Subclass 476)
- Bridging Visa A or C with full work/study rights
Student Visas (Subclass 500) are generally not accepted for this program.

You also typically need at least 12 months remaining on your visa from the program start date.
